这对龙纹大瓶几乎囊括了除人物外元青花绘画的全部元素，如龙纹、海水、蕉叶、扁菊、云纹、杂宝等。
如此复杂的器形、形体大且成对，绘制精良，可谓是难有与之比肩者，青花瓷本身已是无价之宝，更何况是元青花，而此器又是元青花中的魁首之作，中国学术界将这种类型的青花瓷定名为“至正型”元青花，成了公认的“至正型”元青花断代标准器。
